Ball Bearing Drawer slides

Hi all,

O.K. the dumbest question of the year........
Does the thin or thick bit go on the drawer ?
Does it really matter ?
The slide I have is not fully extending so can I mount the drawer ahead of the slide to gain more access. The drawer is decorational mainly and will be 200mm x 200mm.

Thin bit on the drawer.

Structurally probably fine either way but looks nicer when extended with less metalwork showing
