YAY!!!

I've just placed my order with "vale veneers" and my veneer should be here within 4-7 working days!!

I thought i would buy some cheeper veneer because it is my first time i've tried veneering!!

I got some american white oak!

If anyone has any tips for me!
I think i will need some contact adhesive and a roller!

Cheers

What do other people use for veneering hardwood?
I wouldn't use contact adhesive but PVA wood glue. Roll on a coat to both surfaces, let it dry. Apply another coat and glue up.
Am I just being old-fashioned?

i read somewhere that there is more chance of the veneer bubbling with PVA? is this true?

Noel

i was making a blanket chest type thing (although it will hold towels!)

it was going to have box joints or dovetails but i messed up with the box joints so i am going to have a go at veneering instead (it seemed like a good opportunity to start!)

Regards

Tom
