Looking for a new set ( preferably makita I think..due to cheaper bare tools and seems like they are more rugged, although I have like 10years old bosch green impact driver and it was superb ,but the old ni-cd batteries gave up)

Maybe anyone has seen any good deal lately for either a set of drill driver or impact driver with at least 2x2ah batteries+charger?
Seems like buying a drill driver or impact driver set with couple of batteries and than buying the missing bare unit seams the cheapest way than to buy the whole set together.

You need to decide on what use you are putting them to, hours of use expected and what size screws you will be using,
Those requirements will decide on the size of battery and power needed and also recharging time.
That's that's basics, then decide on what is available for you're pocket or wish list.
In other words a makita 10.8 volt may be useless for you and you need an 18 volt unit.
It's up to you weather you buy in separates or a kit, you could experience guarentee issues buying from Tom Dick and Harry to make a set.

oh yeah forgot to say that of course 18v , and I do need at least 2x 2.0ah batteries , more is better but I'm fine with 2ah
Using currently borrowed makita drill driver but it's the supermarket model and the batteries doesn't fit anything else but that drill :(

Anyone have had experience with non-original makita batteries?
I can see I can build this set as in the 2nd link for £145 buying the bare tools and getting 2x non original batteries, and an used charger off ebay.
2x 3ah batteries for £33 seems like a good price,

I have bought some non original laptop batteries ( which should use the same cells) and they have been always fine.

You can safely assume the clones are mostly inferior in some way and cheaper makita batteries are no exception.
I know this from experience

Ended up going used route, hopefully that won't turn out to be bad choice.
got a Makita impact driver/ drill driver / 3 batteries/charger for £75 shipped off fleabay.

Hi

I struggle to understand why anyone would opt for wireless chargers when they are less efficient than wired ones.

Regards Mick

Probably aimed at clueless General Person who have no idea what they are buying and wireless sounds cool, although it's 100% useless!
