Come on then, spill the beans, whats everyone got planned project or workshop wise in the new year.

I would say mine would be cyclone extraction and an ultimate table saw fence!

Similar for me actually. I've got it swimming around in my head to spend the whole of next year on the workshop. Things like putting in a new floor, plumbed in DE, boarding out the walls, making tool cabinet and various other 'shop fixtures.

I don't really have any pressing furniture jobs. Little things like re-making the drawers in the kitchen and a jewelery box for the missus (wedding anniversary).

Don't do a cyclone, build a ..............

.......oh, I can't be bothered :( Go ahead and build a cyclone if you are looking for a way of killing time.

My projects are dependant upon whether we move. If the move goes ahead I will be refurbishing a 400 year old house for the year, building a kitchen and some furniture in the process. I will also build a new workshop and a conservatory.

If we don't move, then its aluminium & fibreglass for a while......finishing the roof-tent, then I have a down-hill racing car to build of plywood, and there is a weird bit of conservatory furniture to tackle.

I can't think that there will be any need for any new tools in the process 8)

redo the bedroom including extending the wardrobe, building a new bed and storage down one wall
get the boat out of the water and re-black the bottom
there's a pocket watch in pieces in the shed that needs its cleaning finishing
try to sort out a watch with a duff back
a paper on alternative forms of t-tests in statistics
help run a conference
sort out the storage in the shed
bathroom furniture and replace that awful plastic bath side
rip up the tiles in the bathroom and sort the leaky shower
rip up the laminate floor in the kitchen and get it recovered with rhinohide
find somewhere for more bookshelves

eek

If I put the whole list up i'd be here for most of the night and you'd all die of boredom

However pressing furniture projects are

Table top for the mother in law
Sewing table for swimbo
wardrobe (to match the furniture olly made - gulp)
pan rack for the kitchen
bedside table for my old dear
a towel rail for the hall to take dog towels
and that bleddy bureau ](*,)

Turning wise

Fruit bowl for swimbo (originally promised in '07)
Fruit bowl as a house warming gift for our freinds jo and tony
Wall clock for the kitchen
a round tuit for my colleague steve
and numerous craft fair items for next xmas season

in my 'shop

Saw table
Big bandsaw
Tools cabinet
Turning Tools cabinet
Mitre saw station
and potentially a router table (when the one i bought from paul J with work money finally goes to work)
plus sort out the floor and the wood

on top of that lot we are moving premises at work (hopefully in february) so we hasve the old 'shop to rip out and the new one to fit

my mother wants a new fence, pond, and pergola

and there is the potential to wind up helping my brother inlaw and father in law build a workshop/garage at the formers new house

I really must work on saying no when people ask me for stuff #-o

Ok. This is interesting.. please tell more.

Hmmm, well in my head at any rate, I have a few things to projectorize...
Hal Taylor rocking chair (eeeeks)
Find space in workshop (garage) for table saw
build a couple more wooden planes (maybe even have a go at a rebate style)
get slightly further on in my (currently) 3yr archtop guitar build (have top and back plates carved out, sides thicknessed and neck and tail block finished so far......)
start building regular acoustic guitar
actually have a go at doing some proper woodworking (i.e. learn to cut a dovetail!)
learn to sharpen a couple of old saws

Oh, and in the middle of all that (July 4th, to be estimatedly exact) - become a dad! How soon is too soon to introduce said child to the wonders of wood???

That should do me for 2010!!!!!

Cheers,
Adam

Once the weather warms up and I can get the glue to go off in the AirPress...a veneered unit with drawers for the TV, then a pair of loudspeakers, then some sort of shelving system, plus a wall hung cabinet for CD's - Rob

A pair of oak bedside tables.
Large, and quite complex, understairs cupboards and shelf units.
Built in TV cabinet.
Hallstand
Bookcase under the bedroom window.
Numerous jigs and thingyamybobs.
Tidy the workshope (ongoing...)
Use the hard maple that is now sufficiently dry for something.
Yew coffee table.
Earn a living, totally unrelated to all of the above.

It has to be said, Matty, that you are undoubtedly the ugliest creature that ever drew breath. I sincerely hope that your christmas brings you a nasty accident involving a brick, and a long visit to the facial re-construction specialist at your local hospital. I've always enjoyed your posts, but if there was a "member's avatars that I am ignoring" button, you would be clicked. You are uglier than an ugly thing.

When I rule the world, your avatar and BSM's lathe will end up in the same skip

Well, I know my mum still wants a few things - including a new back door and side gate among other things for our house. I haven't got any personal projects in mind except maybe a workshop stool. Hopefully, I can get some more 'commissions' for other people. Actually, I started a bookshelf last November which has since been neglected!

In the workshop, there's plenty to be done - install a storage space overhead, sort the roof out, redefine my current mitre saw station, hopefully get a bigger bandsaw... - the list could go on!

Has anyone tried looking for the same thread we had this time last year to see what we haven't built. I seemed to recall abstaining in case it was held against me :D

I'd love to see hat I said. I bet I've not done one thing ;)

Build the new shed/workshop, clear the tools out of the house/trailer/garage/under the tarps, finish the bedroom, re-grout the bathroom, rebuild my daughters flat's bathroom.
(All halted by neurosurgery, but still needing done - :( )
