    Router Table

Well, about time to start another workshop project, a combined Router table and SCMS station. Design to date Plan is to have some extension tables that store in the bottom slot, still working out how best to mount them when they are in use.

What's it called and where do I get one??

This may be a long shot, but there were kitchen tables around in the 60's/70's that had fold down leaves. Nothing very flash, formica covered ply if I recall. The bit of interest was that when you pulled the leaf up it automatically locked in to place. I think you had to then release a catch...

    A Question of band saws

No doubt the question has been asked before but it doesn't seem to have been covered too recently. I have a T/S and Thickness / Planer, both from Elektra Beckum and I have to say they both work very well. I'm now considering a bandsaw and am pondering keeping it in the family so to speak, but...

    Cam Locks

Is there a jig out there to allow accurate drilling for a cam lock? I expect I could make something with some off cuts and a dowel, but just wondered what others used.

    Big Triton Collet Lock Woes!

I fired up the big triton in the table tonight and there was a horrible grinding noise. Switched off and took a look to find the collet locking pin hadn't freed properly and has made a bit of a mess of the collet. Freed it all up and set up again and it failed to free again. Think it's going...

    Template guides for Triton Router

I have the big Triton mounted in a table, but I need to do some rather meaty template work which needs a 1/2" bit, which won't fit in my other routers. The question is, the Trend dedicated base or the guide pack from Triton? Does the guide pack from Triton need anything else? How do they...

    Is it FUBAR?

I have a 10" SIP SCMS. It's had reasonable use over the last 3 years or so, used mainly for cutting skirting but other things as well. The other weekend I was cutting up scrap for the wood pile with it, nothing overly large 2"x4" was about the largest. After about 15 mins I fired it up and it...

    Long full extension runners

OK, I've got a week off and the plan is to build some sheds to house the wheelie bin and recycling parafanalia as well as logs for the fire. I'm looking to make a pull out tray of some kind to put the various re-cycling boxes on, trouble is the shed is going to be just over 1m deep. I've tried...

    Elektra Beckum PK250

Hi I have acquired an almost unused EB PK250 table saw. I take it they are now part of metabo but I'm struggling to find parts for this, in particular an auxilliary fence. Does anybody know where I can get hold of parts for this saw? Cheers Olly

Concealed hinge for an internal fitting door

Deftly side stepping all the questions about using standard or piano hinges, does anybody know where I can get a concealed hinge for a door that fits internally to the carcass rather than the more normal external? I've tried the usual suspects of Screwfix and Hafele.

For Sale: Clarke 37" Wood Turning Lathe

I hope I'm not in breech of the forum rules with this, if I am then mods please remove. I've been asked by a colleague if I know anybody who may be interested in a lathe since his father died and it is no longer required. I thought somebody on here may be interested before it goes on eBAY...

    Moisture resistant MDF

I think this may have been asked before but I can't seem to find it. I'm looking at producing some kind of bathroom freestanding cabinet. MDF, probably circa 18mm would seem to be the way to go. I'm planning on finishing in white gloss so that should seal it, but I suspect I ought to be...

    Keeping the shop toasty

So how do people keep their shop warm and toasty on these cold winter evenings? I have a couple of 2Kw fan heaters which work OK in the workshop attached to the garage but if I'm in the main part of the garage doing some assembly etc which is too large for the w/s then they struggle. Add to...

Base Plate Screws for Triton Router TRB001

I'm just fitting the insert for my router table and the fixing screws that hold the base plate on to my router are not long enough to go through the insert. I have a quick look on the tritontools.co.uk website but can't find any longer ones, can anybody help? Cheers

    Sealing air lines

Spent the evening messing about with the compressors, adding quick connects and couplings (PCL) to lines and the compressors. Trouble is, it sounds like a vipers nest. I've put 3 or 4 turns of PTFE on the threads before doing them up as tight as I can with spanners but it's still hissing away...

    Pegboard

OK, I can find loads of places that do pegboard accessories but I can't seem to find anywhere that does the actul pegboard. I'm looking for 25mm spacing, in either plastic / metal, approx 1m x 1m. Anybody know of a supplier, preferably in the Midlands?

Looking for a particular door handle

Had a look at what I'd call the usual suspects but I suspect I need something a little more specialised! I'm building a sliding door for the workshop and I want a flush / recessed handle so the door will slide all the way back without fouling. Not easy to describe, but I've seen the sort of...
