    A price to pay

A Quick search of the forums gave these: what-s-your-cost-per-item-produced-t44677.html?hilit=pricing%20up%20job pricing-up-how-much-profit-t45156.html?hilit=pricing%20up%20job how-much-should-i-charge-t44819.html?hilit=pricing%20up%20job I'd suggest you make some things first seeing as...

    S.L Hardwoods Ltd

I live in Croydon and 1.5 hours to get to Watford is a very reasonable expectation (making a 3 hour round trip). You'll never get out to the M25 and round in that time, which means you have to come through the centre of town, and that'll eat up the time.

    Anyone used > mobiles.co.uk

They're pretty much the online arm of the carphone warehouse. I've ordered 2 phones from them in the past 4 years, once with a free PS3, once with a free 37" HDTV, my girlfriend got one with cashback. Neither of us have had any problems whatsoever.

    Pricing up wood?

1 Cubic foot is 1 ft x 1ft by 1ft, so for your dimensions: 1.5 inch thick = 3/24 of a foot, so: 6ft x 3/24ft x 4/3 ft = 1 cu ft. 2" thick board = 1.5 times the thickness of the other boards, so assuming that it's the same dimensions, that's about 1.5 cu ft. So 3.8 is about right.

    Would you...?

First off, what do you make? You don't seem to have a smoother - though I presume you use the Clifton for that? Perhaps a #4?

    Quangsheng V4 No.6 review

I'm in agreement with John - my mouth actually hit the floor reading your post. Not sure if it's great customer service or just the world gone mad....

    Ripple Sycamore?

For ripple sycamore you could try Scottish Hardwoods, I know he stocks some. Small outfit, just one guy I think, but he's friendly and you get good service. http://www.scottish-hardwoods.com/

Les Paul build - update fingerboard inlays

Drill them now, carving won't affect their position, and they don't need to be parallel to the surface after the carve. That way, if it's not carved, drill bit's less likely to skip/slip on a flat surface. Edit: Actually, scratch that, I just checked my Epi les paul - the pots are parallel to...

Dust Extraction - Varying Price Points?

Hey guys, Basically I'm looking to get some kind of extractor for my workshop - I don't really have any big machinery other than a bench-top thicknesser, the stuff I use is mainly routers, electric sanders and the like, so hand-held power tools working hardwoods and MDF/ply. I'm looking for...

Please help with my next Lee Valley/Veritas purchase!

If you want something that's going to be used, I'd find a project to suit the plane before you get it. Seeing as you have so many bench planes I'd go for the medium shoulder and plan something nice with M&T joints to use it :)

    Axminster

Maybe you should have used the time you just spent writing that post dialling their number. One missed phone call does not a bad company make. It may be that they're waiting for information from the manufacturer etc for your technical query.

Workbench, free next day delivery £4.50 ;)

No it isn't free delivery. It's free delivery on orders over £49.99. I've ordered from them before and still didn't get this offer you talk about.

What router bit sets NOT to buy?

I really like Wealden Tool's router bits. Reasonably priced and very effective.

    Guitars

That's quilted mahogany. You won't really find a supplier for it in the UK, bigger dealers in the US will sell guitars sets made from it - try www.gilmerwood.com amongst others. It will set you back a pretty penny though, I'd say a back and side set with figuring like that will easily be over...

    Tools From the USA

If you want a personal experience - I bought a new guitar back from the states, so it was a separate piece of luggage, sales sticker still on the case, as obvious as they come. Customs officers didn't notice me, but I went to pay the duty anyway (wonderful parents playing the conscience!) I...
