Can't believe I haven't been able to find anything on here about workshop stools, but what do you guys use?

Not really what I am looking for, I need something I can support my self with whilst standing at the bench, so a high stool which I can park my posterior on.

I recently bought an adjustable height stool from Ikea. It was intended for the shed because I expected very little from it, but in actuality, it's a decent stool and relatively ergonomic.

Thanks guys, the ikea one looks like an observatory chair, may have to get one for that purpose, just needs a foot rest attached to the seat et voila.

When i did a C&G course many years ago: day 1 I was told to have a go with a mortice chisel and some scrap whilst they sorted out stuff for me.
I obeyed and pulled up a box to sit on whilst I did it. Very surprised to be told off for sitting down, much to the amusement of the older lags!
Basically you never sit down in a wood-workshop!

My mate has no problems with workshop stools since he installed a flush WC in an enclosed corner of the workshop. I have to go into the house, but then it's usua!ly only once a day so no big deal.

Put the Sealey together, one leg not drilled for the foot support ring, four of the bolts did not have clear slot heads, very annoying, but after shortening the legs and putting the castors on, quite pleased with the result, the proof is in the using and will have to see how it fairs in operation.

And does this mean that every japanese woodworker is wrong?

When someone brings in a chair/stool in my room/aka workshop I take that fuker and throw right out the window... ain't going to have a damn chair taking up space and always getting in my way.

There's so much better things you could do with your life than spend it on making chairs, I will allow the factories to make them with the right tools in batches of thousands and buy them already ready-made.
