I would like to take the opportunity to highlight the excellent customer care offered by Veritas.
In July last year I purchased several Veritas planes from Lee Vally Tools. Long story short, I was only recently in a position to make use of them. Unfortunately one of the planes had some plane body casting defects, which to be honest surprised me when one considers the level of quality control normally implemented by the company.
Suffice to say I was not surprised, although delighted when within half an hour of emailing Lee Vally informing them of the defect I received an apologetic response informing me a new plane would be sent out to me upon confirmation of my address. I was, in addition free to hold onto the original plane.
Veritas planes are not inexpensive, however the undeniable quality of the item coupled with outstanding customer care make them nothing short of a bargain.
