At the risk of sounding like a cracked record, don't touch heat pumps (I can bore for hours on these :twisted: ). They may be cheap to install, but energetically they make no sense whatsoever, and in practice are not that cheap to run. They look to me like a neat way for the utility people to tie users into relying on electricity for heating.
