Hello

There is joint you use when connecting two pieces of a ridge timbers for the roof together when the ridge is to long to uise one timber, it looks like 3 bird mouths?

Any ideas?

Cheers
Alan

I think it's called a scarf joint. Connecting two ridge beams end to end.
Always fancied having a go at it to see if it works.
I'm sure there is an exact name like splayed scarf or sliding scarf etc. I think it might be wedged scarf as there is a peg in the middle to do the work.
