I'll admit I had something in mind when I pulled the trigger on this saw, but it seems to be a bit larger than I originally thought, and heavy too. I would almost rate it a 2 man saw.

The large saw is a disston with a blade length of 31". The PAX 14" tenon is next to it to get an idea of the scale. The only thing I can think that this would be useful for is cutting breadboard ends on a table. I just can't picture a 2 ft tenon with a mortise you could crawl through.

I 'spect you have one or two you could have taken a piccy of - it's moving the 300 other tools out of the way first that slows things up... :lol:
 
Nope, all wrong.....my guess is that its for cutting big tenons on wooden canal lock gates...maybe :wink: :D - Rob
 
A miter saw hadn't occured to me. I have Nobex miter box which is plenty capable, but I may be able to find some purpose for it. :wink: Thanks for the explanation everybody.
