Here's one of the VW Bugs I made a while back, this one I made for a neighbour and decided to try wood staining certain parts before assembly.

Then I varnished it, what you guys think?

It looks good to me. I always find varnish a hassle- oil might be an easier option, either before assembly or after.

Looks good --- did you make the wheels? I ask because I have just cut 80 from 15 mm hardwood and found it very time consuming and am looking for an alternative

Yes I made them myself and they do seem to take forever.

I do fancy making a 4x4, its dims are L=13cm - W=7cm - H=7cm

Blimey that's a lot smaller than i expected! must have been very fiddly to cut. aye the Farmers would love a old style Landrover and mini's are always popular but I thought a Morris woodie traveller would be great
