Vice advice?

Hi,
Just in the process of building new workbench, and turning my attention to what vice to fit. I only want a front vice, and a bit confused as to the relative pros and cons of these two types:

I've always used the first, Record-type in the past. Should I stick with this, or are there benefits to be gained from the other type?

Hi,

If you are used to a Record type vise then stick with it, They all clamp wood!

I would look out for a secondhand Record 53 quick release vice.
