Hello all, I live on the Shetland isles where the weather can be very bad. I have a front door made by Nordan which seems to have a plastic coating which is coming off and the wood is very weathered. I have not long moved into the house and in the future will replace the door and fram but I am looking for something that will keep it going for 2 or 3 years. My question is what type of paint etc would be best. I do not want to spend a lot of time sanding an I am not too bothered as to how it looks. What do you think about some sort of base coat and a masonary paint. Thank you for any advice. I have no neighbours so will get no criticism.

any exterior gloss.
if it's not intended to last more than 3 years you'll be right.
do remember though, that nothing is more permanent than a temporary fix.
