I've just seen a Workmate that is virtually all aluminium (or whichever alloy they use); only the threads and hinge pins were steel and the jaws were wood. It looked very old. It had two individual fold out legs at the front below the footrest, and at the back just one full width leg like a flap with feet at each end. Even the locking catches were alloy.
Anyone know anything about this model; age, etc.?

I have a pressed steel workmate I bought in the mid seventies. Nothing like those alloy monsters.

I think the old ones are magnesium aluminium alloy. Pretty strong and lightweight, just don't let it catch on fire! lol.

I bought of those in either the late 60's or early 70's a hell of a lot better than the steel ones. Mine was in the van went when the van got nicked in the mid 90's.
