Spotted a sign in a back street
Just had a nice chat with the owner of this
https://newlyntinning.com/

He refurbishes copper cooking pans, main clients are professional cooks.
He uses little kit, but plenty of know how and skill.
I wonder if there is another in the uk?

What unusual craftsmen (not blokes painting odd table legs) have you come across.

Can't you give it a wipe round with lead free plumbing solder / flux ? The 99C is 99% Sn, 1% Cu and safe for drinking water (I'm sure he does a nicer job than that).

Having known about him for a year or so now I have yet to meet up with George Hook, Mother of Pearl worker.
All being well on the 9th Feb 2019 he will be presenting a talk about his trade at our NVTEC(mids) club night. All welcome and maybe get some raw materials for that special project (pre ordered)

Mother of pearl, now that's something I have never thought of using.
Might start saving a few oyster shells :D

If you look at the prices, you'll see you'll get something the size of an eggcup done for a tenner. :D
I did look. I expect I confused mm with cm. It happens from time to time, and probably explains why I can't cut neat dovetails.
