Not seen this one; some kind of razee transitional with a metal insert, carrying an adjuster. It look like the travelling
part of the adjuster is missing; the plane as found simply had a normal cut iron fitted,
with no cap iron, despite the iron being cut.

The handle is fitted via a screwed down circular plate. Anyone recognise this?

I have taken a fairly avid interest in handplanes for some ten years odd now, and can safely say that is a new one on me. I have seen transitional planes of all sorts, and also woodies with the handle section dropped like that on your example, but never a transitional with the dropped (?) handle like that. I gues the idea was to try and lower the centre of gravity on the plane? Would that make sense?
Other than that I am sorry Sir, I can't help. What am I saying 'Other than that' - like the info I volunteered was of use anyway! All I did was admit defeat, eh? :oops:
