Just thought i would do a mini review of my new router and set up
The router i have is the triton 1400w and the dust extraction set up is a record one that my friend has loaned me and i got the power tool accessorie kit for it
the features that stand out are the safety covered on off switch, the wind down by the handles plunge for good control (you can have free plunge and micro depth setting also)
i also like the quick set up for putting a guide bush on and also that they fit directly onto the base without the need for a large extra base
fitting the guide bush holder plate took a bit of working out but once fitted the bushes attach simply and quickly
Another feature i like is the dust extraction, for once someone has come up with a design that actually works well for enclosed routering , there is perspect shields on three sides and a hose connector port and the guide bushes are skeleton to improve dust removal
when i did my clock movement rebate dust extraction around the cutter was pretty much a 100% i know it was enclosed routering but i was still impressed with the effectiveness which was down to good router design and good suction from the record.
i made the jig from mdf and worked really well i positioned on the wood via double sided tape
the flexible tapered connector on the record fitted really well once trimmed to size and it worked equally as good on my hegner saw
i put a piece of paper under the hegner where the dust comes through and there wasnt a speck on it after cutting
i have enclosed some photos so you can see my set up
i also purchased a sjoberg portable vice from axminster that works really well for holding work piece i also brought a router mat fromm them that works well although i havent fully tested it yet
the wood is iroko
