Hello All,
Anybody with an Ax 1628 notice a clunking sound when it starts and stops coming from the drive? Just need to know if I should worry not happy unless I have something to fret about :wink:
Todays effort is an elm ringbox.

Have you checked there is no play between the motor shaft and pulley or the lathe spindle and pulley?

Or is the clunk you are hearing due to a centrifrugal switch on the motor? That will go on as the motor spins up and off as the motor spins down. I think these are only on single phase motors so if you have electronic variable speed, this won't apply.
