It's somehow very therapeutic sitting there with a drawknife.

It's a great tool. You can do serious damage quickly with a drawknife. I have a small Pfeil drawknife and I put it up there with a plane and a wooden spokeshave as my favourite tools. In fact when I first bought it I practiced on a piece of scrap 3 x 2. I got a little carried away because in no time the 3 x 2 had vanished and a pile of chips/shavings littered the floor.
 
How true.
I love the way that it looks dangerous but is really safe, as although you are pulling a big naked blade towards yourself, you can't actually get the blade right up to your body to cut yourself.

Another nice thing when working outside is that all those thick shavings make a nice well drained floor surface which can also be used to kindle a fire to make a brew!
