Hi, thanks for the answers to my previous question. Second hand industrial saws are something I don't feel qualified to buy. I also now understand that a cheap table saw mounted in a decent work bench is still a cheap table saw so the Titan is off my list. I have upped my ante to £300-£400 now and will still ultimately put the saw on a bench that it will share with a router. So suggestions for a good saw at that price please?

I did consider a slide saw and while it would be okay for a lot of what I do, it isn't quite right and may therefore nbe something I eventually own for flexibility.

Hi Gary,
I did quite a lot of researching when I was looking to upgrade my table saw at the beginning of thie year. My budget was similar to yours. I'd agree with Marcros that the Axminster TS-200 is a good starting point, as is the Kity 419 (which the Axminster TS200 is essentially a clone of), and the Scheppach Precisa 2 (which I believe is what the Kity has become after Scheppach bought Kity) A Charnwood W619 was also on my list of possibles.

In the end I found a Kity419 not far away from me, and went for that. I have been making slow progress fettling it, but having recently made a riving knife for it, I can use it safely, and I'm delighted with it. There is still a lot of work to do to get it set up properly, but even on a really bad day it is a hundred times better than my old B&Q special, and worth every penny.

Keep an eye on Ebay, Gumtree, and the For Sale section here, and be patient. Something good will come along.

Good luck!
Sven
