Tape for sanding belts

In an effort to cut costs, I'm seeking to make my own sanding belts. Does any one have any info on the reinforced tape that is used on the joint of these ? I've searched the local retailers, and experimented with gaffer tape etc. but no joy. If anyone has any idea of what is used and where to get it I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Thanks guys, Bob I did both links, good info, seems I need thermal re-enforced tape unless carpet joining tape will do, back to the drawing board ! Hudson, I should've said it was for a linisher the glue joint seems to "bump" but thanks again Cans.
