Many thanks to all who replied. I have learnt:
- Aluminium Oxide sanding belts of good quality are widely used for knife sharpening etc and the 75 x 533 mm belts are widely available in any grit size.
- Ceramic or Zirconia sanding belts are especially recommended but are a bit more difficult to find, especially in some grit sizes.
- My special thanks to Myfordman who directed me to Abtec Abrasives who were able to quote me for 75 x 533 mm belts with Ceramic grit in grit sizes 120, 180 and 240 as requested. The minimum order would be 10 belts per grit and the price would be around £2.79 per sheet inc VAT.
