Startrite bandsaw blade direction

Hi all, I've been given a bandsaw by a family member as they are no longer using it. I'm seeking some advice as when using the bandsaw the blade runs upwards through the steel bed instead of the standard running downwards. Does anyone know whether it can be changed or if it has been setup incorrectly?

Is it 3 phase , or converted? Can be wrongly wired to go in the opposite direction. At its simplest you just swap over two of the three connections.

Sounds insane but just check that they haven’t fitted the belt in a figure of eight instead of a loop, apart from the three phase reply above I can’t think of any other reason why it should do that. Ian

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply. I will take a look at the belt fitting later. It is strange and also a bit annoying!

It will be what Jacob said, 2 of the wires will need swapping over, very common with 3 phase.
