I don't think that this is an 'either/or' question. I use both, and would not be without either of them.
The spinle moulder is fantastic for rebating and grooving - you can remove a huge amount in one pass and get a perfectly smooth finish.
I prefer the router table however, for intricate mouldings - particularly using bearing guided cutters.
If push came to shove, I would have to say that if I was setting up a workshop in my garage as a hobby I'd go with the router table first.
