Has anybody got any experience of solar window film? We've got a few rooms that become overly warm on summer afternoons when the sun bears on the back of the house.

I do want to have 'reasonable' visibility of the garden from inside; I'm not concerned about privacy, the cows in the field behind me seem to a be pretty broad-minded bunch...

I'm after recommendations for products, suppliers and installation tips - first hand experience preferred.

Cheers, Kev.

Haven't used the film on my windows, but at work have solar roller blinds. They definitely make a difference, but by all accounts they are quite expensive.

Solar film is not up to much. Personally, assuming you have double glazed units, I would look at replacing these using proper solar reflective glass and having them argon filled.
