Just finished this for my nephew's birthday. Its made out of reclaimed wood; mahogany, I think, beech, and a bit of ply. The planer bed is 10" to give an indication of size. The main body is machined from one piece, and the wheels turned from a bit of curtain pole.

Nice work,but must admit to being very impressed with the ratchet and pawl for the wind-up mast :D

If one of my kids had it it'd be firewood within 24 hours. :evil:

Tone the praise down I won't be able to get my head into the workshop :lol:

PowerTool, the ratchet mechanism was quite tricky with a lot of filing adjustment.

gasman, C26 is ok now, I think the overheating must have been due to voltage fluctuations.
