I have just read a few old threads about blades.

I was given a BnQ ownbrand saw, brand new....Only just had the time to try it out.
As i expected, the blade that was in it was pretty poor. :?

My first question, Screwfix do blades for them pin end jobbies, are these reasonable for a new scroller...?
I will mostly be cutting 12mm mdf, straights and curves, nothing that tight, about 15mm radius minimum, plus the edges will be rounded after. Im thinking a 15tpi blade?

Second question, blade tension, how do i know when it right, or wrong? :?:

Cheers

I forgot to mention- im not expecting miracles, so anything is a bonus

Hi Hitch, i use the pin end blades as well( cheapo b&q saw too ) and i buy blades from b&q or machine mart for it. I only really use it for the same as what you intend to. I tighten mine until it the blade gives a nice twang  :)

Machine Mart: pinned blades, 20 tpi. About £4 per dozen. Excellent!
Cuts straight easily: curves-with care you can get as tight as 1/2" diameter.
Although I've not cut anything thicker than 3/8" ply, and in any case, you can't swing the wood as Carter Johnson does!
