Afternoon all,
I've just ordered some new bands for my Record bs250 as last one snapped a few days ago. Now I've ordered a Tuffsaws 1/4" and 3/8" for general/small stuff , but also got a 1/2" fast cut to rough cut out 2" thick stock blanks.
Last time I set the saw was with a 3/8 band with the gullets on the crown of the wheel which cuts really well, but is it acceptable or safe to run with the 1/2" band as this would put the back of the band 1/4" out over the back of the wheel.
I know the blurb says you can run a 1/2" band , but am not sure if this is with the gullets on the front of the wheel or on the center :?: :?: :?:

Any advice would be appreciated.....................dom

If I were you I'd run it with the blade centrally on the wheel so it is equidistant from the front and back edge of the wheel, ie. the centre of the blade in the centre of the wheel.
