I've just ordered a new 1/2" blade from tuffsaws. Decided to go for the m42 steel, it's nearly 3 times the price but is much tougher, according to the blurb.

It should last longer (it says 10 times) and is also able to withstand the odd screw or nail.

Hope it was worth the extra, it's blown my woodworking budget for the month 😅

I taught Secondary School Technology and was recently talking to my old Head of Department. These are the only blades he buys now. He is very impressed with them and says they are worth the price.

I use them in my metal cutting bandsaw and they cut through a fair amount before wearing out.
Am trying one in the wood bandsaw too at the moment, wider kerf than the fastcut blades but cuts well.

Typically they need more tension than plain carbon blades
