Hi all

Im pretty new to this game, as a hobby ive been making air pistol grips for around 6 months or so

Ive been thinking of buying a router duplicator to help me along on my way

Im not having much luck finding any through google / ebay etc, id only be after something small to get me going (big enough for pistol grips obviously, doesnt really need to be much bigger at this stage) if i enjoy it ill progress from there

anyone know of a model suited to my needs, the lower the cost the better for now i guess

many thanks

i cant help you on this, but am interested in making a custom grip for an air pistol.

Can you recommend any decent air pistols as good ones to do? the hw45 is the only one that i can think of with a wooden grip, although pistols are not something i am that familiar with.

Look on YouTube. Many of the videos on their show you how you build your own.

edited for spelling

marcos, try the crosman 2240, its a good little co2 pistol that can be modded no end with shiny extras, and of corse make your own grips, if you fancy a air rifle, try the crosman 2250b, stock for those is pretty straight forward and again plenty of other mods to keep you busy

ill look on youtube anima but im not holding out to much hope as im not all that great with that sort of thing, so was hoping to buy one off the shelf, thanks anyway

Some of them on the tube seem quite basic. Some timber and a router would do.

I saw a member on these forums a couple of weeks ago had one that they weren't using. Try a global forum search.

Hi

Have you thought about building your own?

Do a google search as there are various plans around and videos on youtube though it is a bit confusing they don't look too difficult. I've thought about it myself but haven't got around to it.

As an aside. Have you tried your hand at an air rifle stock? I have an old Daisy junior to restore over the winter.

Bob.

Bill Hylton's "Router Magic" contains detailed plans for a duplicator. Even if you don't want those plans, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly as a great book for all sorts of great tips and jig ideas.

Im currently making one but not from plans, one I have designed combining ideas and features from commercially available models. It will do pistol grips, gun stocks & other 2d / 3d carving. From what I can tell for a carver your looking at £150 second hand and from £800 new that will do pistol grips.

Hi HC

Is that a project you're thinking of posting?

I'm sure there would be interested members - me for one :)
