Having just seen harry the b's post about the DeWalt DW443 in Screwfix, I had an epiphany moment.

Me - "It looks like an angle grinder. Hang on, is there a ROS attachment that I can fit to my seldom-used angle grinder?"

I may be stating the bleedin' obvious, but yes, there is. http://www.toolsparesonline.com/product ... ander.aspx

Does anyone have any experience with these attachments and do they perform as well as a dedicated ROS? (note: I've never owned a ROS).

I'm probably missing something here, but it doesn't give you a random orbit, it's purely circular. It's too aggressive, in my opinion. I've used similar for taking rust off cast iron and even there it's very aggressive.

It's not just a sanding pad, it's the off-balance lump of spinny metal (eh?) that's on a normal ROS but it just attaches to a grinder.

It is random orbit. I bought one and was so impressed i bought another for spare. Lack of dust extraction is an issue so ive only used it outside with a dust mask on.

I use it on a long handled grinder with speed control and an anti vibration handle.

Its able to remove stock fast or achieve a good finish with the right grade sand paper

Cool, I think I'll stump up for one.

I do all my sanding outside anyway, so it all blows next door.

I just rememberd I have an air-ROS stashed away somewhere. I've never been able to use it due to a woefully inadequate compressor, but I might see if the 'wobbly' bit' is transferrable to my grinder.

Saved the 14 quid one, just in case.
