today after a little playing i fond that a 7tpi crosscut saw filed rip was the dogs for ripping some oak and some mahogony very easy to keep to my scribe line and no bounce in the cut .
and when i planed the edges WHITH MY MARPLES PLANE there was alot less work than when i use my disston rip saw 3.1/2tpi
try it you may find you like it.
