OK new to forum and new to lathes ... help required with best place to put this.

long lost uncle has left a shed full of tools including - DRUMMOND 4 'A' Type Cylindrical Bed Model makers lathe.

Is there any interest in the second market for such a thing?

just looking for a fair price and to get it to someone who would appreciate it.

northamton area.

Speaking as someone who has just bought a treadle powered Barnes lathe (see the Metalwork section for the story of how I have put it back into working order) I'd say yes there is interest but it's a minority interest. (I assume, from a quick look on lathes.co.uk that your uncle's lathe is quite old.)

You could post it on here in the for sale section, taking note of the rules.

The place for all sorts of odd items is of course eBay which might give you an idea of the value. (Search for completed listings. ) My ill-informed impression is that these things are rare but not very valuable.

The rest of the tools could be attractive - most of us here buy more tools than lathes. Post some pics in the metalwork section if you need things identified.
