Hi all, I'm currently working with some rippled Sycamore and was wondering what the best finish is for really making the grain 'pop'? I've seen the Wood Whisperer's podcast where he lightly dyes the wood before finishing to emphasise the ripple but I'm not sure what product to use that's available in the UK. Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

I think generally French polish is the way to go, best bet is to try some sample boards and various different finishes...

As for stains there's loads available, have a look in Axminster for everything you'll need, or eBay :D
