Planer Knives

Hi chaps,

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement pair of these?

I've contacted Doug Perry of Cutting Solution but he doesn't stock anything like them.


Alternatively I could buy a pair of knives such as these and adapt them to fit my planer; however drilling the HSS will be problematic as I have no way to improve the workability of the steel by annealing and then re-hardening. I could find a company willing to use their EDM and spark erode the slots but I'd imagine that'll be hideously expensive for a one-off job.

NLS tools offer plain and slotted planer knives, perhaps they could help

Get em laser cut. looks like a pair of 13" plain knives would yield 3 pairs of these.

Roy at Woodford sells a range of aftermarket blades, I don't know if it includes yours.

I'll email the companies mentioned right away.

Myfordman - Laser cutting is a good idea, I'll check out some local firms if the knives aren't available from retailers.
