Plane Iron Manufacturer's Identification

Can anyone i.d. a plane iron manufacturer for me please?
All I can make out is 'ALEX . (?)M (obliterated) IESON & SON'
It's from an old wooden bench plane I'm refurbishing.

There were a large and long lived manufacturer, so there's a lot of their stuff about, most
of it excellent (although they had different brand logos/marks for their difference quality lines).
