Not anything finished. But what would you say if this turned up as a Birthday present. The slabs it is sitting on are 18" square yew and holly and with the promise of more different woods to come he has some large apple being scrubbed out at the moment.

I take it it's all stowed away now Derek, I mentioned elsewhere about the holly having a tendency to go grey in storage, some years ago I had one batch that certainly was anything but white.

Not yet Chas still on the patio but in shade but the ends are sealed at the moment they are stood up as in the photo. If some of the holly stays white then fine but I will probably use it for some of my coloured creations.
I need to finish one more piece of woodwork before I can get around to converting some of this.

Frustrating isn't it, spend several years building up stock and developing sources only to find the years are getting shorter so that you don't have enough time to make significant inroads into the to so list.

I think I read / heard somewhere that holly has a better chance of staying white / even if stored vertically rather than horizontally. Now, shovel full of salt as at best hear-say / old wives tale but thought I’d through it into debate incase others had more tangible experiance to confirm or refute.

I had a count of projects in the shed that I am working on at the moment

Pair of spiral Candle sticks
Walking stick carving
Two carved spoons
An elf carving
Farm Waggon
Three angels
Two miners
Stamp box(on the bench at the moment)

And on top of that I need to start thinking about next months club competition so not much to do at the moment and as you know there is the wood to convert. I just need to work out in which order to complete them. All I know is the stamp box has to be the first on the list as family coming down from Cirencester later this month on what we have become to be known as the Christmas run.
