Hi, and welcome to the forum
.
There are plenty of pattern books around but you don't necessarily need proper scroll saw patterns - dingbat fonts can often be very useful and they're free. Have a look here:

Probably the finest free patterns website I know of is Pedro's, here:

There's also lots of excellent freebies, including videos and patterns, from Steve Good:

Insofar as magazines are concerned, I don't know of any in the UK but there are two American publications which I've bought in the past. They are
Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts (
this link should take you to their free patterns page) which also has an excellent (albeit predominantly American) forum, and
Creative Woodworking & Crafts (
this link should take you to their free project page). Both ship to the UK.
There are some free pattern design forums around but I tend not to use them very much because the quality can be inconsistent. Nevertheless, some of the pattern designers on those forums are very good and they can be worth checking out. There's
FPBD, for a start

If you're just starting out scrolling, it may be worth considering the purchase of a book such as
John Nelson's. I've not used that book myself but an awful lot of scrollers say it's the best introduction to scrolling around.
