The small router is clever too. It uses a captive bolt being PULLED by the nut, which means all the tension forces (and threads) are in steel, with the cast iron feeling nothing but compression. Further, the blade can be removed by simply loosening the nut. The nut/bolt can then be reversed into the other position (bull nose). This is 99% as slick as the Preston #22 mechanism (inherited by the Record #722), and much simpler to manfacture.
