NE Oak trying new things

C&C welcome I have never tried this shape before used a log about 6x4x4 so not huge thankfully it hasn't split so I am quite happy!

Looks good to me Richard as well. Not tried a natural edge with oak but it looks as though it works well.

Looks like you are Barking up the right tree with that Richard ( )
The narrow cross section of the starting log has resulted in an accentuation of the Oval presentation which enhances the rustic appearance.

Have you treaded the bark/sapwood join with thin CA or the like, I think there may be a risk in that area as it dries out.
