This has been mentioned before, but what is one supposed to do? I understand that if the scum see's a number of locks or other security devices it is obvious that there is something worth protecting inside. But if you put minimal protection on and some ar$ewipe who used to be a friend tells the wrong person what you have, then you have made it easier for them to get in.
There is also the option of hiding the main protection inside, but surely you still have to install some sort of security outside to stop them having a pop at things you have installed within?
Most people say that if a thief really wants to get in bad enough he will find a way, and even though this maybe correct, the whole idea is to slow them down long enough so they will be seen, or have them make so much noise someone will have a look at what all the racket is.
We all know that Johnny Scumbag will steer clear of anywhere that looks like he may break a sweat, or make to much noise. So IMHO a big red box/alarm with a strobe light and a camera placed in a position for all to see is a must, because it will make most thieves go onto a easier target.
