Any metal detector should easily pick up a hearing aid on the surface.

Or were you thinking of one of the types for finding studs in walls? - in which case I'd be less confident.

If you can get pretty well close to where you think you lost it it should have a chance? After all, people find rings and small items of jewelry, init.

True - and it's yet to pay for itself, though last years tally was in excess of 100 silver coins, several pieces of jewellery and a silver pocket watch. I live in hope of the big one

Thanks for that BB. I'll tell the farmer to take more care of his field in future. Maybe I could sue him? Long grass is potentially very dangerous.
