Making sliding patio door sets?

We are thinking of installing a 15' sliding patio door into our house and can buy it off the shelf for £3200 including VAT. I can cost up the timber and glass, but have no idea where you can source the hardware for making these doors?

Has anyone made one themselve or are you just better off buying a pre made one ?
