Presumably when building a traditional casement window, you use butt hinges rather than friction hinges? It would be nice to have stainless ones rather than zinc plated which always corrode eventually - anyone have a source for these please?

Also what type of security lock should I use if I want a 3 point locking system. I have used simple espagnollette locks on my flush stormproof windows, but if there is no stormproof layer then there is no room for the mushrooms of the lock. I looked at some casement windows at the Exeter Home Design and Renovation show which used some locks which have a substantial "pawl" type catch that flips out top and bottom as used on doors. Any idea what type of lock this might be please - and again, any ideas on where I can source them?

Thanks as always for your ideas - i know you won't let me down!

Aaagghh! Now why didn't that come up when I did a search? Thanks Brian.
