I have bought a new hard drive for my laptop. I am also considering buying Windows 7 to load on to the new drive. Would I be able to transfer programs from the old drive? (I have ordered a case to connect the external drive via usb)
Another question for the computer whizzes, My son-in-law has vista on his desktop but it is in Spanish. Would he be able to load another versionof vista (mine) using his license No legally?

You will be able to transfer files from the old drive to the new, however you will not be able to transfer most program files. You will need to re install programs from the original application set up disk.

It is not legal to load your version of OS to another computer unless you remove your original version. As far as using his licence key for this purpose it may or may not work with his version of Vista

Cheers :D
