Well not a review, not in the least, more of an opinion.
But I bought a pot of this of the net t'other week, six quid odd. Didn't have high hopes tbh. I'm not a great fan of Hammerite spray paint in the least. I find it has a very low colour content. Don't know the technical terms. I bought this as a last gasp. If i want to derust something I tend to use citric acid, drop of fairy and meths but I was on the net refitting the armoury and I thought give it a try despite my best intentions.
Anyway.
I've been doing up this old drill lately. I have addressed the usual rust issues with my Bond Villain Acid tank, sharksnall.
But then I came up against the inside of the top cowel cover. spotted rust, nothing major but a headache to paint on. Still dubious I broke out the Kurust.
We live to be surprised and so I was. Enough to make me write a review which is saying summat.
Sample was the underside of the cowel of the meddings. Bare metal spotted with rust. Nothing serious (30%) but too much to paint. Awkward to sand or finish. Give it a go I thought and I found the results remarkable. You paint the gear on, brush it in and it slowly turns black and stable. Needless to say I took no before pics. Gave it half hour after drying and spray primed it and it took lovely.
Only mention it because I've not seen it discussed before and I was really quite impressed. More than likely it's well known and it's just me that's on the catch up. Still. No harm done.
Cheers all
Chris
