Jewelry box inserts

Has anyone any experience making jewellery box insert trays, the ones covered with velvet.
I have seen the ones with little slots for rings.

Is there a simple way to make them or is it all about making good joints.

I buy the odd jewellery box from time to time but they never have the trays with them.

they can be a bit fiddly, but they are easy enough to make. It is all about good joints- accurate mitres, and a key cut to strength would be my preference.

I line the base before fixing the sides and dividers to it. I prefer the verticals to be wood (pre-finished before assembly) and only the base to be lined. Alternatively you could use flocking.
