Hi , peeps

Started another project , its a piece of chestnut , donated by a forum member some months back :p ( Thanks )

Got out the cutting equipment

and lopped a 18" ( 48cm ) chunk off

Installed it on the lathe

and roughed it to a cylinder

then started to hollow it out

ended up with LOTS of shavings

Good job I donate to the dustmen at Christmas well worth the £20 a year :p

Started to get deep

and nearing the edge , so out with the Laser

you set the thickness you want to remain

118_1838.jpg

by moving the laser across

Hi Allen,
that looks a very useful piece of kit, a little on the large size though. Is this a new toy/tool?

Yep , its a new toyool

purchased from Mike Swain ( cutting crew )

First go with it :p

Remember Size Matters

It not that big , just my camera makes it look wide angle :?

love these photo tutorials, fantastic pictures and many thanks for taking the time to do it, helps people who have never done this (like me) to see how others do it.
keep em coming...

Wow. And I thought the Pro-Forme I purchased from Mike was big

Looks like there are quite a few of us getting the hang of new tools.

Looks similar to the one I saw digging the Channel tunnel. They used Lasers as well.
Are you in on Sunday Allen? I could pop round and see your new excavator.
