It was very reassuring- particular as the Carter/Umaga try was from a debatably forward pass - thems the breaks, but that would have put a very different face on the game.
At the same time, my concern remains - where's the 'sparkle' in the backs? Outstanding up front, outstanding in defence, but no creative line running. Until we look dangerous with the ball in hand again, we're always gonna be chasing the best, instead of dominating. Telling stat on this? NZ's tries are coming after an average of 1.4 phases of play at the moment: our try against Australia last week came after 17!!!
We need some new dangerous runners with a little bit of magic...
